• This is a ten day adventure departing from London (Heathrow). This tour will run between the end of October and the beginning of November each year.

The tour starts 9,000 feet above sea level, high up in the mountain capital of Quito. We take a couple of days to get used to the rarefied atmosphere and relax after the flight from London. The first day's ride passes into the Valley of The Volcanoes taking in the stunning snow capped volcano in Cotopaxi National Park. The first night is in a typical Ecuadorian Hacienda. A bit of luxury in a lovely hotel.

Day two and it's down into the Amazon basin where the climate changes from mountain to tropical. Passing Tena and Puyo we ride to Baños, crossing the Pastaza River as it swells on its way into the Amazon Jungle. We rest beneath the still-active volcano of Tungurahua. At a safe distance the frequent cracks and pops can clearly be heard and sometimes even the occasional spurt of fire.
.

The third day's ride is back through the most dramatic part of the Andes mountain Range. Here we see Ingapirca, the largest Inca settlement in Ecuador. After a long day's ride on winding roads passing massive canyons and sheer drops we end the journey in Cuenca. More comfort here in one of this historic town's five star hotels.

More climatic change on day four. Over another mountain range, our highest yet, through Cajas National Park, and then down onto the hot plains past Guayaquil. We ride to the Pacific coast and the beach resort of Salinas to an ocean sunset and drinks by the pool.

Day five is North along the Pacific to Manta. Being a shorter day everyone will get a chance for a bit of relaxation. The distances covered so far make this rest a welcome one.

After covering such a huge amount of Pacific, Andes and Amazon terrain and climate, a celebration is obviously going to take place at this point.

The penultimate day continues up the coast where the beaches become even whiter. We cross from Bahia to San Vicente by ferry and then inland again over a relatively small mountain range to another beautiful Hacienda at Santa Domingo.

The final day and back up to Quito. As we head East there is a dramatic change from the lush coast back into the dry, arid Andes. The finishing point, The Equator. We re-group where Northern and Southern Hemispheres join and then ride in convoy back to base at the five star Radisson Hotel.

The official trip ends here. However as The Galapagos Islands are so close, if there is demand, we may arrange a visit here too for anyone who wants to extend their stay.

Places are filling up for this one so contact us ASAP to avoid disappointment.

The ride is for seven days but we will break in the middle to catch our breath. The exact route is subject to change and whilst we will stick to what you see here as much as possible there may be alterations where necessary.
